Marisa Clapp Finishes Third At NCAA Division III New England Regional

GORHAM, Maine, Nov. 15, 2003 – Springfield College senior
Marisa Clapp (Charlton, Mass.) finished third out of 252 runners in a time of 22:12 to lead the Pride to a 13th place finish out of 35 teams at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Cross Country Championship this afternoon at the University of Southern Maine.
Clapp, who finished fifth in this race last season, qualified for the NCAA National Championship next Saturday in Hanover, Ind.
Springfield complied 359 points as Middlebury (51), Williams (77), and Amherst (113) swept the top three positions.

Meg Young (Hurley, N.Y.) placed 29th (23:19). She will join Clapp at the national championship next weekend. Sophomore
Emily Michaud (Caribou, Maine) finished 63rd (24:17).
