Men's Gymnastics Sixth At ECAC Championships

CHICAGO, March 21, 2004 – Springfield College senior
Tim Goetz earned all-conference honors in two events as the Pride finished sixth at the 2004 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Men’s Gymnastics Championships held at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
SC, which totaled 203.100 points, was the highest non-Division I finishing squad at the meet. Illinois-Chicago (213.650) held off Army (211.850) for the team title.
Goetz, who hails from
South Plainfield, N.J., made a strong push to grab one of the six at-large bids to the NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championships that are slated for April 2-4 at the University of Illinois. He finished third on vault (9.150) and fifth on still rings (9.325). In the all-around competition, Goetz was 12th (50.800).
Sophomore
Shawn Fournier (Lewiston, Maine) reached the finals in the pommel horse and placed ninth (7.450).
