Jimmy Lisowski has been chosen Springfield College's Male Maroon Club Athlete of the Week (Apr. 28) after leading the baseball team to the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament championship game.
A junior from Warwick, Mass., Lisowski was terrific all season, and shined in his one appearance for the Pride during the week.
In Springfield's 13-1 victory over Clark on Thursday, Lisowski was sensational on the mound as he tossed a complete-game, six hitter in the win. The junior lefty struck out 10 batters, while just walking one. The one run allowed in the game was an unearned run and not charged to Lisowski.
For the season, Lisowski has a 4-2 record and a 3.94 ERA. He has struck out 52 batters in just 45.2 innings of work.
