

DANBURY, Conn., April 13, 2006 - Springfield College attackers Ashley Martell (Billerica, Mass.) and Heather Dobson (Longmeadow, Mass.) each netted four goals apiece to lead the Pride past the Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) Colonials, 18-3, this evening in non-conference action.
SC's Martell also added two assists in the game to help lead the Pride. Junior attacker Heidi Eidse (Bryn Athyn, Pa.) totaled seven points of offense on the day for SC, compiling four assists and three goals as the Pride improves to 7-4 overall on the season.
The first half was all SC, as the Pride jumped out to a 13-2 lead after the first 30 minutes of action. SC then outscored the Colonials by a 5-1 margin in the second stanza to take the 18-3 decision. Junior attacker Rachel Lampros (Boxborough, Mass.) and sophomore attacker Alaina Schnitzer (Greenlawn, N.Y.) each netted two goals, as senior midfielder Holly Carmody (Wayland, Mass.) chipped in with a goal and three assists.
The Pride will next return to New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play as it travels to Babson College for a 1:00 p.m. start on Saturday afternoon, April 15th.
