SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- April 7, 2008 -- Junior Andrew Constant (Kingston, N.Y.) teamed with senior Joe Lisi (Southbridge, Mass.) to win their match at No. 1 doubles, and then each won their singles matches to help the Springfield College men's tennis team to a 9-0 shutout victory over Clark in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference victory in Worcester earlier today.
Springfield won all three doubles matches by a score of no worse than 8-4. Five of the six singles matches then went straight sets. The only match to go beyond the minimum was at No. 4, where sophomore Trevor Romanzi (Bayshore, N.Y.) defeated Socheata Ly, 6-2, 3-6, (10-6). The last set was played in a super tiebreaker.
The match began with doubles play.
