Women’s Gymnastics Ranks Among The Nation's Elite In The Classroom
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., July 28, 2003 – The Springfield College women’s gymnastic team ranked 16th among Division I, II, and III institutions in the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches (NACGC) Academic All-America program.

SC, which recorded a 3.39 team grade-point average (g.p.a.) for the 2002-03 academic year, placed in the top 20 nationally for the second time in three years. The Pride finished 11th in 2000-01, and 21st in 2001-02.

The ranking, compiled by the NACGC, honored 69 institutions that offer women’s gymnastics at the Division I, II, and III levels. Individual Academic All-American honors were given to 427 student-athletes.

Eight SC gymnasts earned individual honors by achieving a 3.5 g.p.a-or-higher. Leading the Pride was senior Jenna Prothers’ (Amherst, Mass.) 3.98 g.p.a. and junior Alison White’s (Shrewsbury, Mass.) 3.92 g.p.a. The other six student-athletes recognized were freshman Larissa Tabin (Holyoke, Mass.), 3.87 g.p.a.; freshman Laura Nadramia (St. James, N.Y.), 3.74 g.p.a.; sophomore Amanda Roth (Bloomfield, N.Y.), 3.74 g.p.a.; junior Stacey Clark (South China, Maine), 3.73 g.p.a.; sophomore Jolene Woznicki (Warren, Conn.), 3.73 g.p.a.; and sophomore Susan Taylor (North Attleboro, Mass.), 3.67 g.p.a.
