Reves, Vaccari, Named Honorable-Mention Women's Volleyball All-Americans

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Nov. 25, 2004 - Springfield College juniors Alesia Vaccari (Winsted, Conn.) and Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y.) were named Honorable-Mention All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for the second-straight season after the duo helped SC defend its New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) title, and make a return trip to the NCAA Divison III New England Regional Championship match.

Vaccari garnerd 2004 NEWMAC Player of the Year honors and earned her second-straight first-team all-conference selection. The Pride's co-captain finished third in the conference in assists per game (9.66) and hitting percentage (.331), including a 57-assist, 10-dig and eight-kill performance in a 3-2 win over Coast Guard in the conference championship match (Nov. 6).

Reves, the 2003 NEWMAC Player of the Year, led the conference in aces per game (0.92) and ranked fifth in kills per game (3.48). Also a second-team All-NEWMAC and academic all-district selection, she tallied a team-high 408 kills, and became the seventh player in school history to register 1,000 kills on Oct. 9.
