Women's Cross Country Finishes 2nd at Keene State Invitational

KEENE, N.H. (September 29, 2007) – The tandem of Amanda DiPaolo (Phillipstown, N.Y.) and Lacey Cartier (York, Maine) led the the Springfield College women's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Keene State Invitational in Keene, N.H. on Saturday.

As a team, the women finished second out of nine teams that competed in the Invitational with 66 points. The host, Keene State College, bested the competition with 26 points. Following Springfield were Wheaton, which had 82 points, UMass Lowell which had 111 points, and rounding out the top five was Stonehill with 112 points.

DiPaolo finished fourth overall with a time of 19:24, while Cartier was right behind here for a sixth-place finish with a time of 20:05.

Others who placed for the Springfield women in the race included senior Alyssa Brigham (Penacook, N.H.) (12th, 20:32), senior Jess Borsotti (Northampton, Mass.) (19th, 21:15), freshman Amanda Mullen (Claremont, N.H.) (25th, 21:34), freshman Kelley Murray (Cohoes, N.Y.) (33rd, 22:11), and senior Katelyn Rudolph (Amherst, N.Y.) (34th, 22:13).

The next race for the women is the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. next weekend (Oct. 6th).
