Bongiovanni, Loiselle, Reilly Earn Fall NEWMAC All-Academic Status

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (November 10, 2006) – The New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference has announced the 2006 NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Teams for the fall season.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale after the 2006 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at his or her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Springfield College had 19 members make the Team from seven teams. They are:

Men’s Cross Country -- Mike Griffin, Sophomore, Scarborough, Maine
Men's Cross Country -- Peter Ferraro, Senior, Springfield, Mass.
Women’s Cross Country -- Jess Borsotti, Junior, Westfield, Mass.
Women’s Cross Country -- Katie Parente, Sophomore, Torrington, Conn.
Field Hockey – Julia Kincade, Junior, Durham, N.H.
Field Hockey – Bryanna O’Brien, Junior, Newburyport, Mass.

Head Coach John Gibson

John Gibson John Gibson, a native of London, England, enters his 12th season as head women's soccer at Springfield College in the fall of 2011. Gibson has led the Pride to the NCAA Tournament in four of the last six years and has established the Pride as one of the top programs in the country.
