Traditionally, SC women's cross country ranks very high among the regional and national lists in Division III. Academically, SC has earned NCAA Cross Country Coaches Association honors each year for the past 23 years, having accumulated team grade-point averages above 3.2. Four different athletes have earned NCAA post graduate scholarships, as numerous SC runners have earned first and second team honors on the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/ESPN The Magazine All-Academic squads over the years.
The Pride running program welcomes all runners regardless of ability level. The desire to be on a team, support that team, and train and compete are the criteria for team membership. Running takes place on campus; in city parks and golf courses; and in the mountains surrounding the campus. SC utilizes pool running to supplement workouts and also as an additional tool for training. The college has certified strength and conditioning coaches who work with our runners to develop strength in the core of the body and legs.
This Fall, the SC women will look to seniors Alyssa Brigham and Jess Borsotti and junior Lara Dalidowitz for leadership.
