Torvi and Smolinski Garner ECAC Regional Accolades01/10/2012
 Centerville, Mass. - January 10, 2012 - Springfield senior middle blocker Lauren Torvi was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Offensive Player of the Year as part of the ECAC Division III New England Volleyball All-Stars. Torvi was also selected to the ECAC Division III New England All-Star First Team, while teammate Tessa Smolinski was named to the second team. Read More.

Torvi Named NEWVA Player of the Year; Four Others Earn Regional Honors Springfield, Mass. - November 22, 2011 - Springfield College senior Lauren Torvi was honored as the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Women's Volleyball Player of the Year, while teammates Tessa Smolinski and Molly Giattannasio earned All-Region honors. About The Team
With 964 victories through the 2010 campaign and with 38 consecutive winning seasons, the Springfield College women’s volleyball program is one of the most competitive in the nation.
Moira Long G'97 will take over as head coach for the 2011 season. Coach Long replaces the winningest coach in the history of the program, head coach
Joel Dearing ’79. Coach Dearing led his alma mater to 11 post-season tournaments, including eight NCAA Tournaments, four berths in the national quarterfinals, and seven conference titles.
The 2011 squad hopes to return to the NCAA Tournament as it returns several key players from a year ago. Leading the way will be seniors
Lauren Torvi,
Meaghan Hart, and
Kim Giaquinto. Last season the Pride reached the NCAA Division III Regional Championship and owned a 31-5 record.

Moira Long will enter her first season as head women's volleyball coach in the fall of 2011. With over 300 victories as a Division III women's volleyball coach, Long will continue Springfield's proud tradition as one of the top programs in the country.
