About The Team

The 2012 season will mark Springfield College's first as a member of Division III men's volleyball. Springfield College's Blake Arena will host the inaugural Men's Division III National Championship in the Spring.

The storied tradition of success at Springfield College was continued in 2010 as the Pride went on to capture its sixth Molten Division III National Championship, marking the second time in three seasons it claimed the national title. SC captured its third consecutive national championship in 2003 with a win at previously top-ranked Juniata. It was the first time a Division III men's volleyball program had won three straight national titles.

At the 2002 national championship, the Pride toppled the No. 1 and No. 2 ranked teams in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III National Poll to capture its second straight national championship.

The Pride has finished No. 1 in the final AVCA Division III National Poll an impressive seven times (1996, '97, '01, '02, '03, '08, '10).

For the first time in program history, the Pride advanced to the semifinals of the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Coaches Association (EIVA) Division I Tournament as Springfield bested St. Francis in Blake Arena. Cal Palumbo continued to be a dominant force as he took home his third AVCA All-America honor, while Greg Falcone led the entire nation in blocks per game. For the first time in his career, head coach Charlie Sullivan was named the 2010 AVCA Division III Men's National Coach of the Year.
