Women's Lacrosse To Host Smith While Raising Awareness For Breast Cancer

Women's Lacrosse To Host Breast Cancer Awareness Event Springfield, Mass. - April 8, 2009 - The Springfield College women’s lacrosse team will host Smith on April 25th at Stagg Field with a different twist as the Pride will have its eye on raising awareness towards breast cancer.

The Pride will take on the Pioneers in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest Saturday afternoon at 12:30 pm. It will be the first game of lacrosse doubleheader as the men's squad challenges MIT in Pilgrim Lacrosse League action at 3:00 pm.

Springfield College plans to raise breast cancer awareness in the following way:
* pink ribbons will be handed out to all fans
* donations will be accepted to help raise awareness for breast cancer research
* the game program will be pink
Springfield College is requesting fans wear pink apparel to these contests.

Kristen Mullady Kristen Mullady ‘00, has been named an assistant professor of physical education and head women’s lacrosse coach at Springfield College. A former standout for Springfield’s women’s lacrosse team, Mullady returns to her alma mater to head up a program that went 12-6 and reached the conference tournament championship game a year ago.
