Men's Cross Country Finishes 12th at UAlbany Invitational

Albany, N.Y. - October 17, 2009 - The Springfield College men's cross country team finished 12th out of 24 teams at the UAlbany Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Zach Pietras was the top finisher for the Pride in the race as he took 43rd in 25:54.9.

Pietras was the Pride's top finisher in the 8k race and was closely followed by teammate David Birdsall, who finished in 46th place in 25:56.7.

Troy French was the Pride's next best finisher as he ran a time of 26:26.4 en route to 80th, while Jake Brewer finished in 101st in 26:47.4. Anthony Salvucci rounded out the Pride's runners as he took 104th in 26:54.2.

Springfield will now have a week off until racing in the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships on Saturday, October 31 at Wellesley.
