Wrestling Goes 2-1 In City Of Springfield Championship
Springfield, Mass. - February 3, 2010 - The Springfield College wrestling team went 2-1 in the 2010 City of Springfield Championship on Wednesday evening at Western New England College. The Pride fell to eventual-champion American International College, before downing both STCC and WNEC.In its opening match, Springfield fell to AIC, 21-16 before winnings its first match of the day by virtue of a 35-11 win over Springfield Technical Community College. In its final dual of the evening, the Pride cruised past rival Western New England, 36-7.
Leading the way for Springfield on the night was John Archambeau, who went 3-0 at 157. Archambeau won his first bout by decision before winning his final two matches by technical fall.
Springfield will return to action on Saturday morning when its hosts a quad-meet with Trinity, Plymouth State, and Johnson & Wales. First bout is scheduled for 11:00 am in Blake Arena.

Head Coach Jason Holder
Jason Holder will enter his first season as head wrestling coach in 2011. After spending the last four seasons as the Pride's assistant coach, Holder takes over a program fresh off its 10th NEWA Conference Championship.
