About The Team

The Springfield College golf team performed very well in 2007, finishing third of 20 teams at the ECAC Tourney at nearby Chicopee GC. In 2006, the squad finished first in the Franklin Pierce Invitational, 5th (of 17) in the ECAC's, and T19th (of 43) in the New England's. In 2005, the Pride hosted the ECAC Division III Championships at Hampden Country Club. At that tourney, SC registered a very strong team performance, finishing fifth out of 19 competing squads. Led by Greg Levings and Michael Lajoie with identical six-over par scores of 78, the Pride finished with a team total of 315 strokes, just nine off the leaders.

Head coach Joe Eadie, who is entering his 15th season directing SC's golf program in 2008, won the 1997 Kinny Open Tournament in Hartford, Conn., and finished in the top 10 at the Boston Open Tournament three times. He is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional.

The Pride annually competes in the top Division III Tournaments around the Northeast. In the 2007 fall season, SC will once again compete in the Middlebury Invitational, the Williams Invitational, the Shattuck Invitational (Jaffrey, N.H.), the ECAC Division III Championships, and the New England Championships (Cape Cod).
