Women's Track & Field Competes at Trinity Invitational

HARTFORD, Conn., April 3, 2004 - Springfield College junior Leah Sullivan (Northboro, Mass.) captured a second place finish in the discus (115-10) and a third place finish in the shot put (38-1/2) at the annual Trinity Invitational Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Meet this afternoon at Jessee/Miller Field. There was no team scoring.

In other field events, sophomore Cristina Davis (Orange, Conn.) placed second in the javelin (129-11) and senior Leyla Williams (Unionville, N.Y.) was third in the hammer (138-05).

On the track, sophomore Yasmin Goris (Worcester, Mass.) placed fouth in the 100-meter dash (13.15). Senior Alisha Miner (Sanbornton, N.H.) finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (27.49) and fifth in the 400 meters (1:01.77).

The SC 4x100-meter relay team, that included Miner, freshman Courtney Birtwell (East Longmeadow, Mass.), senior Jamie Bafaro (Mechanicsville, N.Y.), and sophomore Melissa Pannell (Valley Stream, N.Y.) finished fifth (52.36)
