Cumberland, Maine – November 14, 2009 - Junior Brian Fuller qualified to run in the upcoming NCAA Championships as he finished eighth at the 2009 NCAA Division III Cross Country New England Regional Qualifier at Twin Brooks on Saturday afternoon. Williamstown, Mass. - November 7, 2009 - The Springfield College men's cross country team competed in the ECAC Championships in Williamstown, Mass. on Saturday and finished in 16th place out of 43 teams. About The Team
Mike Griffin was named to the NCAA Division III All-Regional Cross Country team for the second straight year by finishing eighth of 330 runners at Harkness Park in Waterford, Conn. last November. He went on to compete in the NCAA Championships at St. Olaf Colege in Northfield, Minn.The Pride has placed in the top three at 23 of 25 conference championships in which it has competed, winning seven team titles. The 2005 squad ran to a 17th-place finish (out of 43 teams) at the New England Regional Division III Championships, hosted by Springfield College.
Springfield College has received NCAA Division III Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team honors for eight of the last nine seasons. The award goes to teams that earn a cumulative grade-point average of 3.1 or higher.
