Men's Gymnastics Third At Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md., Jan. 17, 2004 – Springfield College senior
Tim Goetz (South Plainfield, N.J.) finished first on the floor (8.800), and third on the parallel bars (8.500) and still rings (8.550) as the Pride was third out of four teams at the Navy Invitational on Saturday.
SC, which faced three Division I teams, turned in an impressive team score of 194.75. Navy (200.150) won the event, edging William & Mary (200.100). James Madison (190.800) rounded out the field.
Several SC gymnasts enjoyed excellent performances. Sophomore
Aric Hines (Greensboro, N.C.) was second on the pommel horse (8.300), while teammate
Matt Farineau (Sutton, Mass.) was fifth (8.150) in the event. Freshman
Scott Goff (Syracuse, N.Y.) was fourth on the floor (8.500) and sixth on the bars (8.350). Goetz and junior
Nelson Jiminez (Salem, N.H.) tied for fifth on the vault (8.950).
