Men's Gymnastics Downs MIT, 201.600-139.950
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., February 8, 2004 – Springfield College senior Tim Goetz (South Plainfield, N.J.) won four events including the all-around competition (51.500), as the Pride defeated MIT, 201.600-139.950, on Sunday night in Blake Arena.
Goetz took first place on the rings (8.850), vault (9.300), and parallel bars (8.450) in the competition to lead the Pride, which improved to 3-5 in dual-meet competition.
SC freshman Scott Goff (Syracuse, N.Y.) finished first in the floor exercise with a score of 8.600.
Other winners for the Pride included sophomore Shawn Fournier (Lewiston, Maine), who took first on the pommel horse (8.850), and senior Jason Delisle (Tolland, Conn.), who won the high bar competition (8.250).
MIT freshman Brad Sutton led the Engineers as he finished fourth in the all-around competition (46.250) and third on the pommel horse (8.400).
SC is back in action next weekend when it travels to Southern Connecticut on Saturday, February 14, in a 1:00 p.m. meet.
