Women's Lacrosse Too Much For Babson, 14-4

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April.16, 2005 – Springfield College senior forward Erin Looney (West Springfield, Mass.) tallied five goals while junior forward Holly Carmody (Wayland, Mass.) added four goals and an assist to lead the Pride to a 14-4 victory over Babson College in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s lacrosse action this afternoon on Benedum Field..

SC (7-4, 4-1 NEWMAC) held the Beavers scoreless in the first half, opening a 9-0 lead that included three goals apiece from Looney and Carmody. Freshman forward Lindsay Bugbee (Granby, Conn.) added two-straight goals, the first of her career, to end the half.

Looney opened the second half with her fourth goal of the afternoon, before the first of two goals in the game by Babson sophomore midfielder Brittany Wigmore ended the shutout at the 25:17 mark. SC would outscore the Beavers (5-7, 3-1 NEWMAC), 4-3, to finish the game for its third-straight victory.

Pride goalie Kristin Vaccaro (Southington, Conn.) picked up her sixth victory of the season, making 11 saves.

SC returns to action Tuesday (April 19) hosting city-rival Western New England at 7:00 p.m.
