Results From the 2003 Springfield Volleyball Invitational
SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Sept. 5, 2003- Springfield College sophomore outside hitter
Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y.) totaled 33 kills and a .509 hitting percentage to lead the Pride to a pair of wins in the first day of action of the Springfield Women's Volleyball Invitational.
Reves led the Pride (2-0) with match-highs of 15 and 18 kills, respectively, in three-game sweeps of Mass. College of Liberal Arts (30-8, 30-15, 30-12) and Roger Williams (30-15, 30-12, 30-19).
Sophomore
Alesia Vaccari (Winsted, Conn.) added 61 assists on the evening, including 32 versus Roger Williams.
SC returns to action tomorrow for day two of the tournament, facing Endicott at 10:00 a.m. in the final round of pool play. Consolation and championship matches will be played at 2:00 p.m.

Head Coach Joel Dearing

Joel Dearing will enter his 21st season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2009. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 670-298 (.692) overall mark in 28 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
