Women's Volleyball Goes To 11-0

Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) had 24 kills and 10 digs as the Pride topped Wheaton, 3-1, in tonight's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match at Emerson Gymnasium.
The Pride remains perfect with an 11-0 mark on the season and 3-0 record in conference play. This is SC's best start under head coach Joel Dearing, who is in his 15th season at the helm. The Lyons fall to 4-7 overall and 0-3 in the NEWMAC.

Roxanne Breuler (East Haddam, Conn./Nathan Hale-Ray) bolstered the Pride middle with nine kills and eight blocks.
The Pride opened the match by leading the majority of the first game en route to a 30-23 victory. Wheaton evened the score in game two, as the Lyons held their advantage throughout in capturing a 30-22 result. The visitors responded in strong fashion to close out the match, winning game three by a count of 30-21 followed by a 30-20 performance in game four.

Head Coach Joel Dearing

Joel Dearing will enter his 22nd season as head women's volleyball coach at his alma mater in the fall of 2010. Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it. Dearing ranks in the top-10 in Division III history with a 697-305 (.695) overall mark in 29 seasons as a women’s volleyball coach.
