Women's Volleyball Sweeps Clark In NEWMAC Showdown

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Sept. 20, 2003- Springfield College sophomore outside hitter Ashley Reves (Orchard Park, N.Y.) totaled 19 kills and a .405 hitting percentage to lead the Pride to a 3-0 (30-14, 30-19, 30-13) victory over Clark University in New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s volleyball action this afternoon.

The Pride (10-0) won its 10th-straight victory to open the 2003 season

Sophomore setter Alesia Vaccari (Winsted, Conn.) was credited with 38 assists, while senior middle blocker Roxanne Breuler (East Haddam, Conn.) chipped in 11 kills for Springfield.

Sophomore middle blocker Kara Scimeca (Haworth, N.J.) added eight kills and 15 digs for Clark (0-6, 0-2 NEWMAC).

Dearing is regarded nationally as one of the sport’s best coaches and he has the resume to prove it.
