Women’s Tennis Falls To Salve Regina, 5-4

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 19, 2004 - Springfield College junior Suzanne Caiati (New Canaan, Conn.) won at #1 singles and #1 doubles, but Salve Regina defeated SC, 5-4, in a non-conference match in women’s tennis action today on Appleton Courts.

Junior Megan Kelly (Queensbury, N.Y.) won her #2 singles match in close fashion, 7-6 (7), 5-7, (12-10). Kelly also contributed towards her #1 doubles match, a 9-7 victory. Sophomore Laura Morabito (Chelmsford, Mass.) added a win for SC in her #6 singles match 7-5, 4-6, (10-6).

For Salve Regina, freshmen Louise Taylor won both her #2 doubles match and her #3 singles match. Junior Alicia Wills won her #4 singles match 6-0, 6-0. The Seahawk’s junior Katie Wright won her #5 singles match 6-1, 6-0.

The Seahawks improve to 2-1, while the Pride falls to 1-3.
