No. 10 Wrestling Wins Ithaca Invitational

ITHACA, N.Y., Nov. 6, 2004 - Springfield College senior Scott Fay (Danbury, Conn.) won the 285-lb. division for the second-consecutive season to lead the No. 10 Pride to the team title at the Ithaca (N.Y.) College Invitational today in Ithaca. The Pride compiled 145 points, ahead of second-place Ithaca (141) and third-place College of New Jersey (139.5) in the 17-team field for its first championship since 1996.

Fay, the eighth-ranked heavyweight in Division III, swept four matches en route to the individual title, defeating College of New Jersey's Keith Bjourhus in the championship bout for the second-consecutive year.

Sophomore All-American Mike Gaeta (Manalapan, N.J.) finished runner up in the 141-pound weight class, while sophomore Mike DeCiccio (Cranston, R.I.) also finished second at 149 pounds.
