Women's Gymnastics Third Of Four At Cortland
CORTLAND, N.Y. - Springfield College senior Jenny Romano-Joseph (Shutesbury, Mass.) finished fourth on the beam (9.05) and the vault (9.45), while placing sixth in floor exercise (9.325) to lead the Pride to third place out of four teams hosted by Cortland.
In a meet where the top three teams were within .45 points of each other, Brockport finished first with a 182.05 score, followed by the host Red Dragons (181.700), Springfield (181.600) and Rhode Island College, 174.025.
Other top performers for SC included junior Larissa Tabin (Holyoke, Mass.), who finished fourth in the floor exercise (9.45), freshman Kerriann Hart (Hanover, Mass.) who took fourth on the uneven bars (9.2) and freshman Jillian Pacheco (Hyannis, Mass.) who ended up fifth on the uneven bars (9.15).
Springfield, which notched its best team score of the season in the meet, will host Cortland, Ithaca and MIT on Sunday (Feb. 8) at 1:00 p.m. in Blake Arena.
