Baseball Beats Wesleyan, 5-1, For Fourth-Straight Victory
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 19, 2005- Springfield College junior center fielder Derek Yvon (East Longmeadow, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with three runs scored as the Pride won its fourth consecutive game, 5-1, over Wesleyan University in baseball action played on Berry-Allen Field.
Junior Jon Davis (Ludlow, Mass.) pitched 6.2 innings yielding four hits, while striking out five for his fourth win of the season.
Senior third baseman Matt Basteri (Melrose, Mass.) went 2-for-3 and registered three RBI to lead the offense, while senior catcher Anthony Gorneault (Springfield, Mass.) went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI.
The Pride (12-13) hosts conference-rival MIT in a doubleheader on Saturday (April 23) at Berry-Allen Field starting at 12:00 pm.
