WALTHAM, Mass., March 27, 2004 – Springfield College senior right-hander Todd Royce (Chester, N.H.) fired a three-hit shutout as the Pride defeated Babson, 1-0, in the opening game of a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) doubleheader this afternoon at Govini Field.

In game two, Babson’s Jim Burke yielded six hits and struck out six as the Beavers (7-6) won, 4-1, to earn a split.
