Baseball Falls To Keene State, 6-1
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 1, 2005 – Springfield College senior pitcher Kevin Davidson (Claremont, N.H.) threw six scoreless innings and recorded eight strikeouts, but it was Keene State defeating the Pride, 6-1, this afternoon in baseball action at Berry-Allen Field.
Keene State senior outfielder Matt Orsulak (Campton, N.H.) smashed a three run double that cleared the bases in the seventh inning and the Owls (9-5) never looked back.
The Pride (5-5) scattered nine hits throughout the game, but could only plate one run, while leaving seven runners left on base. SC junior outfielder James Miner (Methuen, Mass) drilled a single to right field scoring Matt Basteri (Melrose, Mass) for the Pride’s lone run in the seventh inning. Basteri went 2-for-4 on the day with a pair of singles.
The Pride will travel to Wheaton College tomorrow for a twinbill against the Lyons starting at noon.
