Softball Swept At Babson
BABSON, Mass., April 22, 2005 – Springfield College senior Amy Brucker (Westerly, R.I.) tossed a complete game and allowed just one earned-run, but the Pride fell 4-1 in the first game of a doubleheader at Babson. The Beavers also won the second game, 9-1.Brucker went 1-for-2 at the plate, but Babson junior Meg Gaskell threw a complete-game two-hitter, allowing just one earned run. The one earned run scored by SC snapped Gaskell’s 29-inning scoreless streak, which dated back to April 9.
An RBI groundout by senior catcher Missy Edwards (Calverton, N.Y.) gave SC an early 1-0 lead in the second inning. The Beavers responded by scoring three runs in the third, capped by a two-run single by freshman Jess Cohen.
Freshman Stacy Schlicht also rendered just two hits to the Pride lineup, as she picked up her eighth victory of the season by tossing a complete game and allowed no earned runs.

Head Coach Julie Perrelli
Julie Perrelli was been named an Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Head Softball Coach at Springfield College in June of 2009. The head softball coach at Smith for the past three years, Perrelli received both her doctorate (this past May) and her masters in 2004 from Springfield College, where she served as a graduate assistant for the Pride from the 2003 through 2006 seasons.
