Softball Defeats Iowa Wesleyan, 4-2
Game 1 - Springfield 4, Iowa Wesleyan 2
KISSIMMEE, Florida - March 20, 2003 - Springfield College sophomore Brianne Pearson (Brockton, Mass.) went 2-for-4 with a RBI triple and scored two runs, while throwing a complete-game four-hitter, to lead the Pride back to a 4-2 win over Iowa Wesleyan at the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Florida
Senior All-American first baseman Ali Gerrish (Plymouth, Mass.) finished the game 2-for-4 with an RBI double and scored two runs, while freshman designated player Amanda Johansson (Leominster, Mass.) went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and an RBI as SC improved to 6-1 this spring.
After yielding two runs in the bottom of the second inning, Pearson drove in freshman third baseman Keri Boyce (New Britain, Conn.) before a Gerrish double and a Johansson triple put the Pride up for good, 3-2.

Head Coach Julie Perrelli

Julie Perrelli was been named an Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Head Softball Coach at Springfield College in June of 2009. The head softball coach at Smith for the past three years, Perrelli received both her doctorate (this past May) and her masters in 2004 from Springfield College, where she served as a graduate assistant for the Pride from the 2003 through 2006 seasons.
