Softball Falls To Williams, 5-3
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., April 21, 2005 – Springfield College freshman infielder Denise Fumicello (Brockton, Mass.) went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs, but the Pride fell to Williams College today at Potter Field, 5-3. The teams finished up a game that was stopped due to darkness on April 6.
SC took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning off Fumicello’s two-run double, but the Ephs quickly responded by scoring four runs in the top half of the third inning, to go up 5-3. SC senior pitcher Brittany Dielemans (Middlebury, Conn.) and Williams pitcher Clara Hard (Seattle, Wash.) each did not allow a run the rest of the game.
The Ephs were led by freshman infielder Katie Powers (North Reading, Mass.) who went 4-for-4, including a solo home run and two RBI.
The Pride will travel to Babson tomorrow (April 20), for a double-header beginning at 3:30 pm.
