No. 3 Men's Volleyball falls to Rutgers-Newark, 3-0
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - March 5, 2005 - Senior All-American outside hitter Brandon Mueller (Bartlett, Ill.) was credited with 15 kills, but the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark were still able to sweep past the Pride in men’s volleyball, 3-0 (30-23, 35-33, 30-25) in an EIVA-Tait match-up in Newark last Friday.
Sophomore outside hitter Kevin Lail (Clovis, Calif.) contributed 12 kills to the Pride cause and senior middle blocker Matt Smith (Midlothian, Va.) had 10 kills and seven blocks. Senior All-American libero Eduardo Stawinski (San Juan, Puerto Rico) had 15 digs for SC.
Sophomore outside hitter Eric Honsberger led the Scarlet Knight attack with 16 kills and seven digs.
