No.3 Men's Volleyball completes season sweep of Princeton with 3-1 win

SPRINGFIELD,Mass. - March 12, 2005 -Senior All-American outside hitter Brandon Mueller (Bartlett, Ill.) totaled 17 kills to lead the No. 3 Springfield College Men’s Volleyball team past Division I foe Princeton last Friday, 3-1 (28-30, 30-27, 30-25, 30-20).

Senior middle blocker Matt Smith (Midlothian, Va.), 14 kills, and Eric Palumbo (Churchville-Chili, N.Y.), 13 kills, were also major contributors to the Pride win. Sophomore setter Rob Soris (Niskyuna, N.Y.) was credited with 59 assists, while senior libero Eduardo Stawinski (San Juan, Puerto Rico) had 14 digs.

The win gave SC a season sweep of the Tigers for the first time in school history and improved the Pride’s record to 5-10, 2-6 EVIA Tait. Princeton fell to 3-9, 2-6 EIVA Tait.
