The objective of the doctoral program, in harmony with the Humanics philosophy of the College, is the education of the whole person; it is concerned not only with imparting knowledge and the search for knowledge, but also with wisdom in the use of that knowledge in the service of people.Psy.D. Program in Counseling Psychology
The doctor of psychology (Psy.D.) program in counseling psychology at Springfield College provides students with specialty training in three concentrations. The focus of the program aligns with the College’s mission of educating students in spirit, mind, and body for leadership in service to others. The program addresses the need for graduates who possess strong leadership skills, ethical sensitivity, and the expertise required to serve as effective professionals in human-helping fields. Persons who wish to study toward the Doctoral of Physical Education degree at Springfield College must submit a formal application at least six weeks prior to the beginning of the semester in which they wish to enroll. The Physical Therapy graduate program entails three-and-a-half years that culminate in the awarding of an entry level physical therapy degree. Starting in the summer of 2008, graduate students will enter a program to earn an entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T) degree.
