Throughout his graduate school career, from 2013-2016 and 2017-2022, Jared Ramer has been the head instructor of at least three courses. He was also a research assistant for the Healthy Kids Lab at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) where he led physical activity interventions for families with children with ADHD. After UIC, he was a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Massachusett at Amherst for one year in the Department of Music and Dance where he helped study the physical and mental health benefits of people with various dance experience. Ramer has also been a certified personal trainer since 2007
